We are pleased to present the new version of the Eduka platforms' homepage, which will go into production in the coming weeks, with a gradual roll-out phase controlled by the platforms' administrators (detailed in the last part of this article).
1. A customizable, differentiated home page
Based on a modern system of dynamic, customizable widgets, the home page can be fully prepared and customized by the platform administrator for different user profiles.

Different pre-configurations can be proposed for different user profiles, to offer an experience tailored to their expectations.
For example,
a "dashboard" model for school management, with attractive widgets presenting key information:

Or a model tailored to parents, with widgets linked to the most relevant modules: finance status, quick notification of absence, direct read access to pupils' timetables for the day...

When the new version goes into production, you'll automatically benefit from pre-configured templates adapted for:
- Students
- Parents
- Administrative staff
- Teachers
- Management staff
- All other users (default template)
As well as being differentiable, the new home page is packed with customization and parameterization options for optimum results. For example, the administrator can access settings menus specific to each widget:

As well as generic parameters available for all widgets to customize their appearance (title, colors...)

Beyond the template prepared by administrators,
users can resize, move and hide widgets themselves, to obtain a home screen that suits them best - affecting only their own home page on the device they're using. They also have customization features that can be specific to each widget (below: adjust icon size), and other actions that are accessible according to their user account permissions.
2. A catalog of nearly 20 widgets available from launch
To offer a range of possibilities for enhancing the user experience of all profile types right from launch, we have prepared an initial set of widgets that will be available from the moment the home page goes into production. These widgets are taken from different modules; of course, you'll only be able to benefit from them if your school uses the associated module.
General or navigation widgets - for all users:
- Icon grid / module navigation (more information in section 3 below)
- Calendar - daily events/schedule
- Text widget or content customizable by administrator
Communication - for all users:
- Announcement board: your latest news highlighted in large format
- News / diary: insert the content of a particular article or event as a widget
- Recent news and events: a feed of the latest news or events
- File sharing - offer files for download
- Recent forum activity: display the latest topics and replies
Widgets for administration or management:
- Students' birthdays: displays students' upcoming birthdays as well as today's birthdays
- Staff birthdays: same for staff birthdays
- Student arrivals and departures: displays recent or upcoming student arrivals, as well as recent or upcoming departures
- Graphs for monitoring student numbers, admissions, departures and distribution
- Organization chart: insert an organization chart on the home page
Widgets for families:
- Financial status of account (outstanding balance, advance...)
- Outstanding invoices or instalments with quick access button for online payment
- Family members: list of students and family members with quick navigation menu
- Report an absence, delay or exemption for a pupil - quick access
- Latest class diary entries
- Recently published assessments and observations for students in the family, with results/ratings in direct reading mode
For families, when a widget offers information relating to students or individual family members, the widgets contain "slides" for each person in the family:

These slides can be displayed in animated auto-scrolling mode, or controlled manually. What's more, from a mobile device you can easily "swipe" from one to the other.
3. Improved icon grid
The old home page consisted mainly of a grid of icons, each representing access to a module, or part of a module (e.g. "personnel portal", or "personnel management"). The grid was displayed several times: once for each profile associated with the user's account. The same user could thus be "Teacher", "Coach", "School life", with three distinct icon grids. This made navigation more complicated, and over time, the multiplication of available icons and modules made it increasingly slow to identify the right place to click to reach one's goal.
So we've completely reimagined the navigation icon grid for the occasion of this new home page.

Here are the main differences:
- A single, consolidated grid/screen for all the icons to which the user has access through his various profiles
- By default, icons are divided into 4 distinct themes , as shown above. It is still possible not only to change the theme of an icon, but also to revert to an "all-in-one" grouped display (1 single block with all icons); or even to combine the themes, or create a personalized theme by manually selecting the icons. Numerous customization options allow you to set up every conceivable operating possibility to suit your school.
- When the user has several icons from the same module (the most common example being "Personnel management" and "Personnel portal"), a single icon is now displayed on the grid, and the user can easily choose to access one or the other:
- From the home page, users candirectly access the internal navigation menus of each module - without necessarily having to go through the module's dashboard:
- Each user decides the order in which icons are displayed within each theme: rearrange icons by simply dragging and dropping (in the screenshot below - the Finance Management icon is dragged to reposition it elsewhere on the grid)
- Icons can be displayed in small or large format , depending on the user's preference (or the default setting selected by the administrator) - useful if the thematic block has a small or large number of icons:
- Users (*administrativeonly) can discover the additional modules available in each theme to learn more about the possibilities offered by the Eduka suite:

Users can click on the additional module icons to go to the Eduka website page to find out more:

These developments, which are by no means exhaustive and still contain other little secrets, will significantly enhance the user experience in both desktop and mobile versions.
4. Responsive home page - adaptable to mobile devices
The new widget grid function adapts perfectly to all types of device, offering a grid of 1, 2, 3 or 4 columns, depending on the width of the screen you're using. In mobile display in portrait mode, a single wigdet column is displayed:
On widgets containing several "
slides", such as the announcement board visible below, the user can "
swipe" from one slide to another with ease.

Finally, on the mobile version, customization features are adapted to touch-screen use - drag-and-drop not necessarily being the preferred mode:
(Translations and design currently being finalized)
Customization by the user is distinct according to device: users will be able to customize their home page differently on their mobile device than on their computer, as their usage may differ - mobile use is generally more consultative.
5. You want to keep your current home page..
Changing habits is a delicate matter, and can easily offend users who have been used to a familiar environment for years. So, if you'd like to keep the old display of a single main icon grid, with news on the right (or without news), simply set your home page template to exactly match the old format.

Here's how to do it in just a few clicks:
- Use a single home page template for all (the "default template")
- Remove all widgets
- Add the "Modules panel" widget
- Set up the widget as follows:
- Add the "Announcement board" widget, then the "News" and "Agenda" widgets if you use these functions.
You'll be back in a familiar, sober environment, with all the navigation improvements described in section 3 above.
6. A phased launch until summer
Good news:
you can now try out the new home page on your "
dev"platform, which is based on the development channel. We're currently developing the last widgets mentioned in this article, reworking the display to modernize it on certain widgets, and then entering a technical and functional testing phase that will last several weeks.
Here are the main stages in the production roll-out of the new home page:
- Availability on dev platforms: as of today
- Activation of the new homepage on the CCC: during February 2026 (*CCC = Customer Care Center - the platform you are currently on)
- Availability on production platforms: during March 2026
- During production, the new home page will only be visible to platform administrators
- Administrators will have the possibility and time to set up homepage templates for different profiles
- The school will be able to activate the new home page for all users whenever it wishes
- The old home page will be decommissioned in the summer of 2026; the new home page will therefore become compulsory from that summer onwards
We hope that this new homepage will provide your users with improved comfort of use, with a range of tools relevant to different types of profile, from parents to administrative staff, management and even students.
We look forward to hearing from you. If you have any suggestions for widgets to add to the existing catalog, we'd be delighted to hear from you in response.
