Why connect Eduka and PayPal?

PayPal is a natural fit for internationally mobile families: parents pay from their PayPal balance or card, on any device, through an interface they already know and trust. For the school, it is the easiest payment gateway to switch on — enter your school’s PayPal business account in Eduka’s configuration and you’re live, with a sandbox mode to test safely first.

How does the PayPal integration work?

PayPal is enabled as the online payment platform for one of your school’s bank accounts in Eduka’s Finance module. When a parent pays online, Eduka hands them over to PayPal’s secure payment page; card and account details never pass through Eduka. PayPal then notifies Eduka server-to-server — and Eduka doesn’t take the notification at face value: each one is verified back with PayPal before being accepted. Confirmed payments are recorded immediately against the family’s invoices, with the exact amount PayPal confirmed and the PayPal transaction reference attached. Payments held for review by PayPal are tracked with an awaiting-authorisation status rather than lost, failures and cancellations are traced, and every transaction keeps a complete log.
